Ayaka: Studying English
November 11, 2008
Have you ever taken TOEFL before? I took a TOEFL iBT last Sunday. TOEFL test is for students who want to study abroad, so it differs from TOEIC. It was my first time to take TOEFL. I will get the result in three weeks, and I am quite sure that I cannot enough score on TOEFL. TOEFL has four sections; reading, listening, writing and speaking. After the test, I thought that I should study harder for TOEFL test. Do you have any ideas for studying TOEFL? If you have taken TOEFL, or have studied for TOEFL, how do you study for it? Let me know how I can study for it in an efficient way?
Also, I want to join a club or an activity in which I can help international students or I can do something with them. However, I guess that there is no club or circle at school so far. Does anyone do such an activity? Let me know about information related with what I want to do, please.
If you don’t mind sharing with me and the other students about how you study English on your way, please tell me about it.

HI, Ayaka.
I have never taken TOEFL before, this is because that I am studying only TOEIC.
I have no information of it, so which is difficult both TOEIC and TOEFL? I have heard that TOEFL is more difficult than TOEIC.
Is it true?
Anyway, we have to study hard

Hello, Ayaka.
I have never taken TOEFL test before. I heard some of us are needed to take this test in order to study abroad. Also, some of them say it is difficult to get high score at this test…
I think it is effective that using paper dictionaries to study English although electric dictionary is much more useful.
When you take time to study it, things you learn do not disappear soon.

I have never taken TOEFL, so I’m sorry that I do not know. From now, I tell you about the activity in which you can help international students. Also I think there is no club in OJC. However, you can do that in another group such as YMCA. My friends teach Japanese for foreigner. Do you try it? Or, do you start the club in OJC?

Thanks for your comments. Well, TOEFL is completly different from TOEIC, but I just think that TOEFL is similar to Japanese, “kokugo” in reading.

I have never taken the test and I have no plan to take it. Because I will not study abroad using TOEFL. But I think TOEFL is better than TOEIC if you want to study abroad. TOEFL have various topic and speaking and writing test. Anyway, you may well read, write, speak and listen to English more and more!! I boost you!!
